photosynthesis and respiration

Photosynthesis means to
  "put together using light"

Plants use sunlight to turn carbon dioxide from the air, and water into food.
Plants need all of these to remain healthy. When the plant gets enough of these things, it produces a simple sugar, which it uses immediately or stores in a converted form of starch.
We don't know exactly how this happens. But we do know that chlorophyll
the green substance in plants, helps it to occur.
Photosynthesis results in the production of glucose which plants and animals can use to produce other biological molecules (organic compounds)
Cellular Respiration

aerobic respiration:
glucose + oxygen --------------> carbon dioxide + energy + water
                              in living cells

       RESPIRATION :
  • uses food
  • uses oxygen
  • produces carbon dioxide
  • Produces energy
  • takes place in all cell
  • takes place all time
  • Carried out in both plants and animals
  • Doesn't need cholorophyll

     PHOTOSYNTHESIS  :

     - Makes food
     - produces oxygen
     - uses carbon dioxide
     - uses energy
     - Takes place only in the presence of light
     - Carried out only in green plants only
     - Takes place in cells that contain chlorophyll only
